The Pollinator

PRODUCT

The wearable implant project was a collaborative effort aimed at addressing people who suffer from pollen allergies. We envisioned a world where individuals, whether allergic or not, could support each other in navigating environments filled with pollen. Our goal was to develop a wearable system that allowed allergy sufferers to breathe filtered air. To achieve this, we used a casting process to create the main body and mask of the wearable implant. We then applied a plasticization method using a vacuum machine, incorporating a seven-layer filtration system. To allow air entry, we carefully created holes in the structure and drilled tubes into the body. Additionally, we included wings in the design to offer extra protection and reduce pollen exposure for allergic individuals. It's important to note that the wearable components were designed to work together seamlessly, requiring both parts to function effectively. This aspect emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, turning the use of the wearable into a teamwork effort.
