BACKGAMMON
PRODUCT DESIGN
This project involved creating something using both solid and liquid materials. I chose to make a Backgammon set because it's a game I've played my whole life, reminding me of my dad and summers spent together.
Moving on to the liquid component, I started by laser-cutting a box and the triangles inside. For the chips, I utilized the wood circles I had made. I then created molds and poured silicone, allowing it to dry.
I began by crafting the solid wood base. I cut the wood at 45-degree angles to ensure seamless joins when assembling the box, then shaped the wood dice and chips.
Once I had silicone molds for both the triangles and chips, I mixed clear resin for the chips and solid resin for the triangles. After removing the individual parts from the molds, I hand-sanded the chips and painted the triangles.
To complete the project, I added some final touches, such as applying clear resin to the center of the game and attaching faux leather to the sides.
